    A panel discussion chaired by Sabrina Elba exploring how slavery has been re-defined by our contemporary world.

    Our panel of experts and survivors explored how we can take more effective action to end modern slavery for good.

  • Supporting Better Healthcare for FGM/C Survivors

    September 2023

    A best-practice masterclass in treating survivors of Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting and an exclusive panel chaired by Steve Ford - Editor of Nursing Times.

    The masterclass hosted over 60 healthcare professionals live, and is now available to watch online.

  • Pro-bono Legal Clinic

    August 2023

    A world-class legal health check-up for grassroots organisations and activists in partnership with TrustLaw, Latham Watkins and JP Morgan.

    Guests were able to address their immediate legal and governance concerns with the incredible Latham Watkins lawyers and connect with TrustLaw to join their global pro-bono network.

  • One Question Campaign Launch at the House of Lords

    May 2023

    The Vavengers presented a Healthcare Inequalities Report at the House of Lords. The meeting was hosted by Baroness Rosie Boycott and we were joined by NHS Chief Nursing Officer for England, Dame Ruth May and the office of NHS Chief Executive Officer Amanda Pritchard.

  • Through Her Eyes Dinner

    Hosted by Hoda Ali and Shamsa Araweelo, The Vavengers held an immersive Somalian Dinner, with delicious food, music, and dance. We led guests through tales from our hosts’ childhoods in Somalia. FGM/C is not cultural nor religious; what we experienced on this night, was all about reminding us what Somali culture and tradition is all about.

Creative Ambassadors

The Vavengers began as an arts collective, uniting artists of all disciplines with survivors of Gender Based Violence. Our aim is to create spaces where cross sector engagement and creation, can lead to new channels of dialog and collaboration.
