London Pop-up Support Hubs

The Vavengers hubs are the UK’s first and only pop-up holistic support & wellness spaces, led by Community Ambassadors experts in or survivors of FGM/C or Violence Against Women and Girls. The workshops offer wellbeing sessions, talks on all forms of VAWG, distribution of food and essential items such as period pads and are a safe space for women and girls who want to get information and referral on support services available in the UK.

To express interest in attending these hubs or to find out more, please send us an email at info@thevavengers.co.uk

Alarmingly, demand for our services is increasing. If you would like to talk to us about Hub partnerships, funding a Hub or launching a Hub outside of London together, get in touch with our team at info@thevavengers.co.uk.

Support booklet

For attendees of our Support Hubs, we created a printed booklet that curates information on different types of abuse, how to spot the signs, and how to get support in the UK. Since its success at our hubs it has been developed and adopted for use in many spaces, including community partners and governmental organisations. View and download for free on our resources page.

Educational Workshops

The Vavengers offer educational workshops to individuals, groups or organisations to empower them to integrate systems and safeguarding into their workplaces or lives, supporting survivors of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and working to end them it for good.

The topics we cover include, but are not limited to;

  • What is FGM/C and how can you support survivors and other women and girls vulnerable to it?

  • Other forms of VAWG: how to spot the signs of abuse, how to support survivors and best practice for reporting crimes.

  • Taking an intersectional approach when doing community work

  • The role of wellness in supporting survivors of VAWG

We provide educational sessions to almost anyone, for example; Businesses of any size, Universities & healthcare Bodies, Schools, One-to-one or groups.

When you complete a session, you will receive a certificate acknowledging your participation and, most importantly, have the knowledge to support survivors of FGM/C and VAWG and join our mission in ending it.

Please get in touch to to learn more or book a session.

Campaigning

We use our media platforms to spotlight relevant issues, uplift the voices of survivors and empower our followers to be active around the issues. Alongside our ‘business as usual’ content we occasionally run campaigns about specific topics – for example What if You Knew below. We aim to reach both performing and non-performing communities to join our mission in influencing governments to change or pass new laws, and ensuring FGM/C and VAWG is on the political and social agenda.

Please get in touch with us to collaborate with us or fund a campaign.

Below is the trailer for our What if You Knew Campaign (2019) that discusses the inequalities that Black and Brown women experience in UK healthcare.
